A new project that brings Gaudenzi to a historic location in Ravenna.
The space develops in plan and in elevation, with a central courtyard more than 12 metres high.
This majestic environment is characterised by a structure of cast iron arches and lacework, and a covering glass that makes the space very bright.
It is a very characteristic environment but also very difficult to deal with.
The design choice is to standardise the perception of the furnishings in the space by using a minimum range of materials, with reflective materials, polished stainless steel, and mirrors, for both men and women.
The same square tube hangers, the same stainless steel and extra-clear glass counters, and the same backlit polished stainless steel platforms.
The differences between the various spaces are in the materials used to finish the architectural box: helicoptered concrete floors for women, and (existing) wooden floors with a new shiny black treatment for men.
The only breaking element is a room completely lined with iridescent polycarbonate to join the men's areas.
The central courtyard is treated like a museum space, where the free-standing elements are different and sculptural, like true works of art, with the function of containing the product.
