TROPI & COffee - Milan
A project born from a trip to Africa, to discover the Masai traditions
The Tropi & Coffe project, translated and created by AFA Arredamenti, reinterprets the geometries and colours of the Masai tradition in a contemporary, Milanese and sophisticated way .
On the ground, a floor made specifically for Tropi & Coffee recalls the hot and arid earth of Tsavo, the ceiling, of a splendid brick red colour, is a tribute to the sunsets of Amboseli.
The fabrics of all the upholstered furniture are custom designed and include the thousand colours used in traditional Masai clothing.
The counter is pantographed creating geometries that could make one imagine shields or sacred African masks.
The project by Architect Simone Colombo SCA (Simonecolomboarchitetto.com) was born own from a trip to Africa where, carefully observing all the Masai colours and geometries, the architect tells how he was struck by the contemporary power of those signs.
In the Tropi & Coffee project we can see all the colors of that journey and perceive its emotions thanks to a sophisticated reinterpretation project in a contemporary key.
